User Guide: Scanner App for Tickets

Welcome to the Scanner app, designed to simplify and accelerate event check-in. This guide will walk you through the app's features and how to use them effectively.

Getting Started

  • Login:The app uses a login system (no signup required).

  • Enter your provided user data or password.

  • Roles:Scanner: Limited access for check-in operations.

  • Producer: Full access to event data and reporting.

  • Logout:To log out, tap the "Logout" button in the settings.

Event Selection

  • Connected Events:The app is connected to the Getin platform.

  • Upon login, you'll see a list of available events.

  • Select the event you're working on.

Check-In Process

  • QR Code Scanning:Tap the "Scan" button.

  • The device's camera will activate.

  • Position the QR code within the frame.

  • Scan Feedback:Successful Scan: A green screen with a confirmation message.

  • QR Not Found: A red screen indicating the QR code is invalid.

  • Already Scanned: A yellow screen showing that the ticket has already been scanned.

  • Online Scanning:When connected to the internet, ticket validation occurs in real-time.

  • Check-in data is synchronized across all devices.

  • Offline Scanning:If there's no internet connection, the app will use locally stored ticket data.

  • Check-in data will be automatically synced when internet connectivity is restored.

  • Manual Check-In:If a QR code is unavailable, use the search bar.

  • Enter the attendee's name or ticket number.

  • Select the attendee from the search results.

  • Tap "Check-In."

  • Manual Cancel Check-In:If a mistake was made, there would be a button to cancel the check in. This button will be on the screen that appears after a successful scan or when manually checking in a user.

Reporting and Analytics (Producer Only)

  • Real-Time Reports: Producer can access real-time check-in statistics.

  • View data by:

  • Ticket type.

  • Check-in status (checked-in, not checked-in).

  • Device/user.

Best Practices

  • Ensure a Stable Internet Connection (When Possible): For real-time data and synchronization.

  • Keep Devices Charged: To avoid interruptions during check-in.

  • Train Staff: Familiarize all scanners with the app's functionality.

  • Regularly Sync Data (Offline Scanning): To maintain accurate records.

  • Keep guest lists updated: If the guest list is incorrect, problems will arise.

Troubleshooting

  • Scanning Issues:Ensure the QR code is clear and undamaged.

  • Adjust the device's camera focus.

  • Increase ambient lighting.

  • Connectivity Problems:Check your internet connection.

  • Restart the app.

  • Login Issues:Verify the login credentials.

  • Contact the system administrator.
